Organized by the Guild of Fine Food, The Great Taste is considered the gold standard for food and drink products. The awards are judged by a panel of over 500 experts, including chefs, buyers, food writers, and retailers. The rigorous judging process ensures that only the best products receive the highly respected Great Taste stars. Javara Smoked Salt and Organic Coconut Sugar were both granted 1-star accolades, which is a testament to the exceptional quality of these products.
Our Smoked Salt is made from fine-grain sea salt harvested from North Bali. This salt celebrates and preserves traditional heritage in salt making in various regions in Bali. It is hand-harvested by Balinese salt artisans which requires a meticulous process. The salt is wrapped inside the coconut leaf then naturally and slowly smoked using low heat over coconut logs fires to infuse the salt crystals with 100% natural smoke flavor.
Javara Organic Coconut Sugar, on the other hand, is made from pure coconut (Cocos nucifera) blossom nectar. It is one of the most ancient sweeteners of the Indonesian archipelago. Coconut trees can be productive for sugar making up to 50 years, making it one of the world’s most sustainable sugar sources. We combined the traditional hand-cooked method and modern process in sorting and drying, to ensure we can deliver the best in terms of flavor, quality, and food safety standards.
